budget travel insurance

Unfortunately, budget travel insurance is difficult to find.  Just like all insurance, the higher the premium, the more you are covered for. When looking for travel insurance, the premium is not the only factor you should consider. This page provides an idea of whether you should buy travel insurance in the first place.  There are also other things you should consider when buying travel insurance.

Do you buy travel insurance in the first place?

jafatravel.com believes travel insurance is a must especially if you're travelling for over 2 weeks and if you're travelling to a place which is going to be out of your comfort zone. Travel insurance can relieve a lot of stress and takes away your worries when things could possibly go wrong. You won't have to worry as much about losing your things or getting sick. Travel insurance will take care of any costs associated, as long as you find a good travel insurance company and they are willing to help you out.

For me, travel insurance means I don't need to worry as much if my bags are lost along the way. Of course there will be the things that you can't replace. But with a majority if items, you can just replace them and buy them new. Travel insurance means the cost of replacing these items won't affect your hip pocket too greatly. If you lose your bag, you will be inconvenienced but travel insurance means you won't be as inconvenienced.

The same applies for delayed or cancelled trips. Travel insurance means you can recover the cost of your flight or tour if it is cancelled. Again, you are less inconvenienced than you otherwise might have been.

By far the greatest benefit of travel insurance is medical cover if you are sick. You never know when you will be sick so it is best to have that possibility covered. You will never know how much medical expenses could cost in a country and it can become very expensive. This is a big concern especially when travelling in the USA.

That's why I never travel without travel insurance. The peace of mind is worth the cost of the premium. And it allows you to be slightly more carefree with your belongings and what you do on your trip.

If you have purchased budget travel insurance, you should make sure you carry your policy with you. If something does go wrong, you can have a read to see what you will be covered for and make sure you receive all the entitlements that you should be receiving. If you have travel insurance, you might as well take advantage of it and use it!
